Chauvin will be convicted, the other three will walk free, and George Floyd's family will be expected to go on TV and talk about how this proves that black lives matter in America so it's time for BLM to dissolve.

Jury selection isn't a big deal it's normal, what's hosed up is their actions after that. The EMT lady was very obviously put on the stand without being given any guidance.

Edit: or was given guidance actively counter to a successful prosecution against Chauvin being achieved, but that's conspiracy talk and heaven forbid

yeah what the hell is going on. do they plan on it being a 6-month trial with dozens of witnesses or something and they don't have time to rehearse testimony?

If Chauvin walks and there are riots, it might put Biden's "selfless public servant who's saving america with his kindness and bold progressive relief agenda" facade to the test. Because the messaging at first would be "we hear you. we feel your pain" but if poo poo goes down for a week with no signs of stopping? maybe the tone changes and we see the authoritarian crime bill Biden that the media pretends doesn't exist

the tone has nothing to do with anything biden says or does. he'll do a brutal crackdown on all forms of protest while the propaganda continues going on about how thoughtful and kind biden is.

Nah. Jury selection is a big deal. The defense only needs one

when cops go on trial the prosecutors act as the second defense team. the judge is usually the third. there's no difficulty in getting bootlickers on the jury when everyone involved is dedicated to making that happen.

As for what happens when the cop is exonerated, literally nothing. There will not be riots, there will not be anything like what happened when the whole incident started. The good guy is in the white house now, so obviously everything is fine.

i nominally agree with this, i think there will be a riot, or two -- when he walks free. there has been in the past. but it will be a small turnout. maybe a phonebooth will be torched and a car spray-painted and then coolzone will get hyped up that the end of capitalism is here, and then everyone goes back to eating brunch the next day

Biden will express some generic disappointment. He and KH will then ~advocate against violence~ and thus libs won't support any public response. Crowds will be smaller, we will get literally crushed by the national guard, and the descent toward facism will expedite, as both parties can publicly support an even more full-blown police state

Or just gets hired by the county they already reside in / become a state trooper.

There needs to be a national blacklist akin to licensure so if police get canned for cause, they can no longer work in that capacity anywhere.

why would there ever be? that's a feature, not a bug.

it's not as if PD in other counties or cities don't know exactly who they're hiring. it's all intended that some racist killercops can just move a county over or go to Boise PD and get the same job making 200k a year just somewhere else.

I completely agree with you, but this increasing scrutiny of police activity in the public eye is a trend that I think can only increase given their brutal nature and the expansion of the police state. I know that they know who they're hiring.

A national blacklist of this nature would be the smallest modicum of public accountability that could potentially be an early goal of police reform (it won't happen for the reason we agree on). Opponents of this type of reform will develop a strawman argument akin to: "Well look at those guys that were convicted of rape and murder and spent decades in prison before new evidence exonerated them, you would be doing the same thing to them" and it'll disarm proponents of this thing.

one of the interesting things about the GF murder is that it was universally seen as brutal and wrong, even among most chuds who always defend cops. That changed after it became a BLM thing. The defense would be smart to turn it into just a BLM issue and let the 2-3 blue line chud jurors stonewall
