Binged this entire series yesterday and I don't regret a second. I knew a few of the major plot points, like the characters not actually being animals, but it was a pleasure to watch everything fit together so neatly. I'm still trying to figure out my own interpretation of what happened after that deliciously ambiguous ending.

Well, if we're looking at the ending, the next episode previews take place at the party at the end of the series. Apparently, Baba's still dating Rui, and trying to find more work so he has the money to pay for a good legal defense. Meanwhile, in the full context, it definitely seems like Odokawa planned to set up a sting to catch Sakura.

i enjoyed this but looking at some of the posts i think i was barely paying attention. i was mostly there for the interesting/funny observations the characters made so i liked the earlier episodes more when there was less plot going on. i wasn't really following all the details of how it all interconnected. seems like i could have made more of a mental effort there and got more out of it, maybe, but i liked it as a comedy and odokawa was a really good character. dobu and shirakawa were really likable, too. the reveal he was just seeing animals didn't really do anything for me. i'm glad it was kept to the last episode because i like his Walrus Form a lot more. it seems like that girl who murder-replaced the mystery kiss girl killed other people at the end there, which i didn't pick up on, except that the last shot being her was weird. i suppose it means she's going to kill odokawa? i don't get why. it was obvious she killed the original because she was the only one with a narrative reason to do it, but i figured that was where her relevance ended. like i said, i should have paid more attention early on because by the second half, things were moving fast and i hadn't made the initial connections.

Finished it yesterday. Really good show. Kind of struck me as an apolitical Crash. Other than a few glaring plot holes otherwise really enjoyable and I kinda hope there is an OVA extra or something

I thought Shirakawa's whole thing is that, while she does like Odokawa, she was still under Dob's thumb up until very late in the "endgame" so she needs to keep tabs on him for angry Yakuza enforcer #1.

I've never seen or played a gacha that didn't give out rewards the moment you press the roll button, having it in any other form would probably set you for disaster (your players could just infinite roll until you get something you want). I imagine the writer wrote it that way for the emotional impact, it isn't something I would call a plot hole necessarily imo I guess they could've just had Gacha lose his phone completely, and make Zooden one of those gacha that need a friend code for backups instead of tying it to an email (like fgo). Not from gacha stuff, but I have had plenty of only games accidentally wipe stuff that should be stored server side require client side input. Specifically I have seen more or less the exact scene from Odd Taxi occur in Mechwarrior Online due to an internet connection drop. Hell I've seen it duplicate reward crates due to bad internet connections too. I also recall people complaining about this with limited time Dead by Daylight cosmetics not properly being associated to their account. The game being poorly programmed isn't really a plot hole. There've also been issues with gacha games in the past where the app crashes or freezes or whatever and when you boot it back up your currency just got eaten with nothing for it, but that's not a particularly common event (and is usually tied to a larger issue with the app, so they usually compensate players when it's fixed regardless). What's more unbelievable is that the game doesn't have any kind of spark system considering pretty much every game has one at this point as some kind of capstone for spending money since I guess executives realized people talk about games that don't have that in any form

FGO has such a lovely pity system it may as well not exist so lacking one is not that far a bridge for me there is no pity or guarantee for getting a 5*, you just have to hit the 1% success chance of getting one (which further has a 20% chance of being a non-banner 5*). once you've maxed a given 5* by rolling 5 copies, any additional dupes give you one of a special currency. once you've collected 10 of those you can then exchange for a single copy of what 5* you actually want.
