Depending on jurisdiction, there are certain welfare programs that have a cutoff kind of like that, but I don’t think there’s anything along those lines that would be remotely relevant for the kind of person who would blow several thousand dollars on trinkets.

Also, you can’t reduce your tax liability by purchasing products for yourself

I feel the same. The storylines didn’t really come together in a way that was anything more than kind of amusing

People are just really good at convincing themselves their familiarity bias has a logical justification.

But in this case the latter people are actually wrong because of their familiarity bias and the former are not
