You don't even need a mod to have period music btw. Turn music volume in the game down and then find one of the appx 10 million spotify or youtube playlists for "habsburg military marches" or "sea shanties" "socialist music" or "turkmenistani folk"

Without either events or focus trees I have 0 confidence "dynamic south american revolutions" would result in anything but godawful CK 867-looking South Americas, especially before any expansions come out. Expansion fodder? Sure.

It’s not a joke. Victoria ascended in 1837 and Johan “Tex” Andersen moved the start back a year to have the Texas Revolution playable. The original end date wasn’t even 1936, it was 1920. Lol at scrubs who didn’t play original un expacced V1 for a thousand hours while the rest of the school went on dates.

If they improve the battle AI a bit it'd be amazing in Vicky if you couldn't directly control your troops, only give general orders. I wanna feel like Lincoln cycling through AotP generals or sack Field Marshal after Field Marshal as the years of static front drag on.

The map looks a lot nicer in those shots. Also, the Boshin War irl had fewer casualties than like, three Fall of the Samurai TW battles will have. Like 5000 killed. Please don't add it if it's going to end up a giant multi-year civil war every time like how it's impossible for anyone to take England by the end of 1066 in CK3. Super Jay Mann posted:Really I think the best way to model things is to severely limit any sort of mass conscription mechanic for most all countries in the early game, with notable exceptions being the big European powers that were pioneering the concept at the time (so I guess France and Prussia?). Mass conscription can be something a country develops willfully either through tech or political maneuvering or whatnot or can be a consequence of major events, in the US's case the Civil War forcing the hand of both sides. The Union didn't even implement conscription until 1863. I think it'd be cool to have a "call for volunteers" button, at least for certain governments, that would be a sort of soft mobilization. It gives you fewer units but pisses people off less. Or maybe instead of straight giving you units it just massively increases conversion to soldiers and reduces training time or something like that. Another example would be Britain that tried to go into the Great War without a draft. For that matter I wonder if conscription terms will be a law. On the opposite side you had the confederacy, which due to a combination of low war support and extremely pro-wealthy conscription terms was fighting an ongoing guerilla war the whole time against men who didn't want to fight for it.

Zeron posted:Well I imagine the idea is that holding a country more powerful than yours in your grip is more awe inspiring than holding a OPM with no army. The consequences of a subject having a better military/economy than yours is that they're likely to beat you up/be too troublesome to hold onto and stop being your subject. If you can hold on to them in spite of that, well you deserve the acclaim. It doesn't matter if India has a bigger military/economy than the UK if they aren't stopping either from being used primarily to the benefit of the UK. Well there is no such thing as India in 1836. There's the British Raj, the princely states, and a few outliers like Punjab. I'd kinda like the Raj and the princely states to work the opposite way. The British Raj's army should be primarily sunk into garrisoning the Raj and its borders and the subcontinent should be a massive security concern for Britain and a key to its supremacy. You shouldn't be able to just send a few million indians to fight France or the US without mortally compromising the Raj. Even in the world wars most of the british indian army was busy garrisoning British India.
