and here's what that cartridge slot was for. apparently it has a hard disk inside, so you can change and test poo poo quicker than burning a disk every time:


sony dev hardware takes the whole "lol hueg" to an extreme, though. i forget if it was the ps1 or the ps3, but i remember hearing about an early devkit for one of the playstations basically being a loving photocopier that could heat the entire building in winter

sega neptune, a genesis with a built in 32x. cancelled in part because the saturn was already out and because the 32x was about as popular as speed 2.



sega pluto, a cheaper saturn with a built-in modem. the modem used in the us, specifically, so i assume it was cancelled because the saturn was a dead console walking outside of japan by this point
