Hopefully Pallisters ghoulish tactics during this pandemic stick with him and we can boot his loving rear end out. I have never seen such hatred of a premier in recent times. There is stuff like this being pasted around the town right now. Plus it feels like both sides of the voting base hate his guts for different reasons. The right hates him because he locks them down and closes their churches - the left hates him ... well for everything cause he's a loving piece of poo poo who only serves himself and his rich buddies.

I'm sure Pallister is deeply concerned considering he never wanted to still be Premier at this point anyway and whoever follows him will still take care of him and retain the vote of the rural dumbfucks of Manitoba as well. He's just a fall guy for whoever takes over from him at this point and it couldn't be more transparent. The vitriol against him specifically is GREAT for the MB PCs and working entirely as intended.

Like for example the art you shared, personally I like it, but considering anybody who owns a home in Manitoba just got an education tax rebate from the PC government, they will look at that artwork then look at their cheque and conclude "well, he's looking out for people like me, I'm part of that exclusive club, look at this anarchist poo poo under the bridge where can I go to vote for Premier Goertzen please".

Instead, he's going to be banished to one of his two mansions and/or his Costa Rican estate until being appointed to the chair of some committee at a PC friendly company as a tax shelter (see also "Filmon, Gary").

Meanwhile, Manitobans will line up to vote for the next PC leader, because either they're moron rurals or they're city people who are fine with having sold off health care and education for tax breaks in the amount that somebody who owns three mansions probably keeps stored in a random sock drawer in case he needs to buy a banana.

Only 14% of women in Winnipeg and 21% of women province-wide said they would vote PC, you understand how abysmal that is right? The only way they could fix their numbers at this point is if Pallister retired, they found a woman that actually would lead the party, torpedoed Goertzen, Friesen and Cullen, killed bill 64, admitted they hosed up the pandemic and health care and then fixed it.

Sure.

So they put Heather Stefanson in charge, Goertzen remains the hatchet guy, Friesen remains the money guy, Cullen just fades into whatever he was never important, Bill 64 is only partially implemented (still a win in the PC eyes), and hopefully enough Manitobans don't give enough of a gently caress about what happened during the pandemic or if they do, they blame it on the tall man who was "banished" to another country.

If I were a PC strategist, that's the path I'd see for the party and it's all in place. Get angry about "doomposting" but Manitoba political history is technically "doomposting" then because it's been a huge back and forth on infinite repeat machine for a long time now. Otherwise, show me the roadmap to NDP victory right now that is actual strategy beyond "the conservatives have really hosed up" because yes it's probably there but it doesn't look as clear.
