 (shoutout to Waffleman_ posting this in the chat thread) Background Recently, I've been on a big anime kick. However, most series stop after one or two seasons, and I've been in search of a longer series. I've heard that Gintama was a really funny series, so I decided to give it shot. Man, was it worth it. So far, I've watched about 34 episodes and I've been laughing the whole way through. For all the silly poo poo that happens, I really like that all the characters aren't flanderized or anything. Shinpachi is amazing as the straight man, and Kagura being a mini Gin is great. The Shinsengumi and other supporting characters getting their own episodes is pretty great as well. What's the thread for? So, feel free to follow along and watch with me! As I go through the series, I'll post recaps of episodes that I really liked or go back and recap episodes by request. I'll try to include images as I go further along. Only thing that I ask is no spoilers!

Gintama was one of the best anime experiences I've had, and it only gets better and better.

I will never not recommend the live action adaptation (yes I know), it's really good. I haven't seen the second one yet, but the first one is sublime. It covers an arc that OP won't get to for about 20 episodes and it's free on Youtube, at least in America.
