Previously on Wales at the Euros... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8ArJ_hUGWk (The whole thing is on Amazon Prime for free if you're a subscriber. It's not a bad watch!) Wales are the perennial underdogs in European and World football, even down to not having a thread mere minutes before the tournament kicks off and relying on someone who doesn't even really follow football much these days to jump in. Forever the 'never quite made it' team, we didn't just qualify for Euro 2016 - but made our mark on the tournament with the best team the country has ever assembled. While 2020 probably isn't going to be the repeat everyone dreams of, the hope is the team are able to make it out of the round and continue success to finally, finally, get the World Cup qualification the country has begged for decades for. quote:Goalkeepers: Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace), Daniel Ward (Leicester City), Adam Davies (Stoke City) All eyes, as ever, will be on Bale - who isn't at the peak of his career but has been scoring since his return to Spurs. Hopefully his leadership will be what brings the team together, and it'll be a surprising face or two that makes their mark. Joe Allen returns to the squad to much happiness, and everyone is just hoping Hennessey won't throw up any nazi salutes during the tournament.

I'll take that 1-1. Thought Switzerland were the better team, but Wales stuck with them and stole a point. Big game Wednesday now I think Wales can roll Turkey.

Think getting 4 points in the group with a (hopeful) win against Turkey and the draw against Switzerland was always the most realistic outcome. Should be enough, be nice if Italy take the Swiss to the cleaners next week and then give us an easier time once they’ve cleared the group. Need to ramp up the performance though, everyone knows that’s how the Swiss play and they didn’t have a single answer in the first half.

Wales were pretty poor and still got a draw so as good as can be expected I think.

Wales haven't been that bad recently. Out of the last 9 competitive games Wales have won 6 drew 2 and lost 1 so there's optimism that Wales can fluke their way out of this group!

If Italy beats Switzerland on Wednesday then there's a good chance that Wales can win on Sunday. Also Turkey will need radical changes if they want to win any of these games; that's entirely winnable from a Wales perspective as well.

A fun game for sure... some better final touches and a penalty shot that wasn't destined to fly out of the stadium and that could've been a real drubbing. Nice to now the Italy game isn't likely to be do-or-die now.
