If you VPN into NZ once to decrypt, it'll keep working?

This timezoned unlock is stupid bullshit. Why do companies still do this?

Great. Stuttering all over the place. This is a Zen+ Threadripper with a 3080 and 32GB of DDR4-3200.

Also, Denuvo EULA. So I'm blaming that.

--edit: Seems to reliably happen when just turning the camera around and I presume it has to load crap into VRAM. Settings say I'm only using half of it.

Yeah, sound even cuts out. So it's something super-whacky going on. None of the CPU cores peak. And according to task manager, the GPU utilization at the very beginning from the roof top to down to the streets is maybe 10% average, at 4K with FSR Ultra enabled. The GPU usage is higher idling at the menu screen with typing this in the browser than playing the game so far.

This is loving stupid.

Nope.

Graphics settings to high, and FSR enabled. My graphics card only uses 7GB VRAM of 10GB right now and doesn't seem fazed at all by the game.

I'm on the starter island now, things appear better. We'll see what happens when I get back to the city section.

A headshot really doesn't mean anything in this game, if the NPC level is higher.

--edit:
This game is unclear about what bases you can even take over. If I were to go by the older games, if there's a flag and alarm in the center of it, it's a base. I'm at that tobacco farm on the starter island, and whenever I budge too far away from the center, the snipers in the tower respawn. If they're not all cleared, the base doesn't transform. So I guess this isn't a base?

--edit:
Seems like spawns are generally weird. I started out in the middle of nowhere plinking a single guy of his horse, and now there's a huge body pile, because he keeps respawning immediately like 20m away.

--edit:
There's also a missed opportunity of not having poses/animations of your pets running shotgun. Who doesn't want an alligator copilot?

It certainly doesn't have a hotkey. Maybe it autoactivates? I was running around at night on the starter island clearing some Liberdad boxes in some crevice. It couldn't see poo poo and there's no flashlight nor did it trigger (I think it does only in designated caves?).

I presume you mean surprise attacks in the most inconvenient moments? If so, yeah, and it's loving annoying. I forgot how it was in the other games, but in FC5 it was a single instance of an animal. In FC6, it seems to be multiple. Wildhogs come in three, crocs in two, etc., and you'll be wasting plenty of your ammo, because the machete seems to do barely gently caress all on these.

IMO it's worse than FC5, both in effort spent and frequency of them appearing.

Yeah I'd generally been avoiding the resolver weapons since they're usually weird or detrimental to yourself (i.e. flamethrower) but someone posted about this trick a while back so I've been doing that trick since and it's way easier. MG with blast ammo also works well, I'd been trying MG with AP or the various Rocket Launchers, but they're bad options.
Always nice attempting to use the rocket resolver supremo pack (or whatever) to blow up AA guns, just to see the rockets fly off to some watch tower or other random location, because the game decided to spawn in new enemies under my nose.

There's something really wrong with spawns. At the first tobacco farm, after finishing the starter island, I stood on the tall silo, capped a sniper in the watch tower, did 180°, killed the one in the opposing tower, did another 180° and someone new spawned in the first tower again. And it kept going on and on. Earlier today I saw a sniper NPC in the Madrugda area respawning in a watch tower over and over while in my scope, and I was closer than in that other scenario.

So I did the Montero mission where you have to break that guy out of the prison. Then you had to escort him back to some garage. The NPC AI ran past the two guys I just capped, figured to pick up a rifle and then just head off into the forest, chasing after some other bad guy NPCs. Way to loving go.

Also driving AI just freaking out out of the blue for no apparent reason and ramming into things. Always hilarious.

I'm a bit annoyed about the behavior of tanks. Once they aggro'd you, if they lose sight of you, they decide just to sit there indefinitely instead of picking up their routine again. That's a smidge annoying, when you don't have rocket launchers yet.

The buggy is really loving stupid, because the front wheels start to grip as soon you get some speed. Typically it's the other way around.

Actually, the whole vehicle system is hosed up. Cars, they all take ages to start accelerating, and steering them builds tension in whatever they simulate for a drive train, which makes them lose speed considerably. In certain vehicles you actually notice when that tension eventually overcomes some threshold. Especially the tank. Try to accelerate from a standstill while constantly steering to a direction. That thing isn't gonna budge, and then a certain moment, it suddenly leaps ahead.
