I mean yeah but now you’re hoping that there aren’t any breakthrough infections in the rest of the position group or that dude didn’t hotbox Lamar’s locker with COVID germs or w/e. It won’t be as disastrous as the Broncos QB room incident but it’s still a PITA for the staff and one more thing to worry about.

I know that Harbaugh is considered a Certified Bad Coach ITT but this is what I’ve been saying every time Williams’s playing time is questioned. There is no way Harbaugh is looking at the production from Bell et al and still rolling with them unless he’s loving stuff up in practice.

Kawalimus posted:

We still shouldn't be struggling like we are in some ways. Our receivers are good now. Freeman is a solid RB. At least in the Miami game they played well and their receivers made a lot of good contested catches. Yesterday we almost lost and the bears looked like trash.

We just need to be able to attack an opposing defense. And on defense we need to learn to tackle better and not set ourselves up for collapse with these convoluted schemes our players can't do. I don't know. Maybe Bisciotti can send Martindale a tub of ice cream and be like "I want VANILLA!!!"

You realize that on top of everything else that was the backup QB out there yesterday, right? Like, that wasn’t Lamar Jackson. What on earth do you think they’re really going to be able to do in that case?

Freaquency
May 10, 2007

"Yes I can hear you, I don't have ear cancer!"

And please don’t point to, like, Colt McCoy and say that’s how you should play with a backup QB. No one in their right mind would let him throw 44 times in a game and I fear the fact that he did may indicate that Kingsbury has some sort of brain-eating amoeba, or was suffering from hypoxia

Apparently we're the 14th overall pick now. Trade Marquise Brown and some of those other picks we have to move up into the top 10 and draft one of the best players at his respective position. Then get some more good players. Then come back healthy and reloaded next year.

But again we need to see another year.

That’s loving stupid, hth

"Yes I can hear you, I don't have ear cancer!"

Kawalimus posted:

Why?? Why are we forced to pay someone a huge contract who threw one of the highest percent of uncatchable passes this season? That's insane!

Probably because there are 2 and a half seasons of work that show he’s much better than he was this season, and deciding he’s cooked during the most snakebitten season of his career is what’s insane.

Lots of people thought that Tyrod could be the guy too after a couple of decent performances and we see what’s happened with that. If you’re a GM and decide to go with the backup over a guy who’s barely removed from an MVP season you should probably never work in the league again.

Freaquency
May 10, 2007

"Yes I can hear you, I don't have ear cancer!"

Kawalimus posted:

Tyrod never had single decent performance here. And he did deserve a chance to start somewhere. Why do people bring up Tyrod Taylor as if his failure as a starter has anything to do with someone else succeeding or failing. That's so dumb.

Because every couple of years there’s a backup that shows some flashes and they get talked up only to crater immediately. Would you prefer I use Matt Flynn instead?
