frankly the parasocial element is even often important to the work itself. ie osamu dazais work would probably not be notable inside japan let alone out of it without the personal connection people feel between themselves and him and how his struggles with mental illness often feel incredibly prescient to readers with the same issues. but haha i gotta use this epic word i learned on the internet.

a good lesson to not base your passions on other people. if i had to ask permission to like hellsinker i wouldve gotten "what the gently caress are you talking about?" because most people, it turns out, do not know or care about a pc doujin shmup from 2006. and yet they frankly should at least know, because its a very interesting project even in an entirely meta sense in terms of the boundaries it pushed, the later projects it inspired, the fun bits of internet history it happens to be part of.

I've had more crashes and unrecoverable bugs this weekend than I've seen in the entire time I've played ff14. crazy thing is its a different new and exciting bug every time. had one where I was running through radz-at-han and, time just stopped. the game didn't lock up, I could still chat, I could still rotate the camera, just everyone was frozen in place

"early access" is usually kind of a gimmick for ff14 expansions outside of stuff like raubahn's wall, but this one actually feels like you're accessing it early, for me

i mean stormblood had the people who would kill susano and then be permanently locked out of the game by a crash because the game accidentally tried to spawn them underwater while sitting lol. theres def been major oddities with the previous expansion launches. well, mostly stormblood, shadowbringers was the best yet cuz they learned from the parts where stormblood sucked rear end and didnt have to deal with the current issues that are making life difficult

i think the currently accepted theory is the world is dios stand and hermit purple #2 (and yes the fans do call it that) is johnathans stand. which makes it weird that 2 different joestars have the exact same stand but i guess no matter what answer you pick for this question something doesnt add up lol

wow is literally the game where you, yes you, do all the incredible work of taking down deathwing, a world ending threat and then at the last moment thrall, blizzards oc, shows up like "thanks adventurer, now i will deal the finishing blow because we have decided the player character cant be important" and you wanna say that its not in a league of its own in terms of absolute garbage.
