When I looked at the stats earlier the MJF vs. Jericho match was almost 50/50

But now it's much more in favor of Jericho. I really think MJF SHOULD win myself. That's why I put that in my predictions.

I'm curious to hear what other peoples takes are, because I do think Jericho has something left in his tank but now would be a great time for him to hang up his boots while he can still go and maybe enjoy a life where he doesn't crumble apart.

jericho seems determined to put mjf over as big as possible, so him losing on saturday (and giving mjf the honor of retiring him) seems the natural conclusion to the dance they've been doing for the last year and half or whatever

I agree that he's got plenty left in the tank and I think that's why they've been careful to say "in an AEW ring," no doubt he'll still want to wrestle on his cruise and perhaps in NJPW / select indies

I don’t buy that Jericho is able to walk away from the ring with any amount of grace left, so him genuinely retiring while crowds still love him and just 18 months removed from a world championship run would be incredibly shocking to me. I do like the idea of MJF getting a stunning win and then Sammy beating MJF a few months down the line for Jericho’s right to return, but AEW hasn’t really shown much interest in getting funny with stipulations yet, so who knows if they’d go for that

Can it wait a for a bit? I'm in the middle of some *gyrations*

I can't think of anything for Jericho to do with AEW in the ring. He's been champion, he's led the top stable, he's been top heel and a feel good babyface, this is the perfect time for him to go out like a hero, give MJF the biggest rub one can give to a guaranteed star and still go off and make money with his cruises and other showcase matches. Even if Tony finds something to do with him he can really make the Forbidden Door swing both ways and have the matches in other promotions like Impact or AAA, giving those shows some extra eyes. The only reason I have any doubt about the result is because they didn't get Lance Storm in for the Labours and providing a true career retrospective.

You know what?
What if they bring in Lance Storm for a package they play before the match.
I didn't think of it until now, but that would be fitting, no matter which way the match ends up going.

Jericho's clearly close to being done now but he's the type of guy who's going to milk it for all its worth so doing a false retirement tease vibes with that, especially when losing to MJF again does nothing to help MJF more than Jericho's done already. I see Jericho winning here but winding things down over the next 6 months or so.

This could be the most one-sided fight since 1973 when Ali faced an eighty-foot tall mechanical Joe Frazier. My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think the entire Earth was destroyed.

I think that Jericho might soft retire even if he does win, but I just can’t believe that he will never wrestle an aew match again. I think he wins then eases way up. He could do an undertaker style schedule of one spectacle match every six months to a year

they have been so careful with the wording about "competing in AEW" that it leaves room for Jericho to go to NJPW once travel allows or anywhere else.

it has to be now, they've done all this to give MJF the ultimate rub, and also there's no reason why Jericho can't pull a Terry Funk and come out of retirement in a year or two for a major match as a heel or to assist his Inner Circle against the Pinnacle or somebody else. Or interfere with matches.

between Rancid and Europe, we're hopefully going to be getting a bit more licensed music to hit Big Biceps Tony's credit card.

I really thought they should open with Punk-Darby when PAC-Andrade was on the card because you could cool down with Paul-QT straight after Punk then get the crowd back into things with Moxley-Kojima and PAC-Andrade before hitting the title matches and the retirement match. The Women's Casino Battle Royal being on the PPV really throws my expectations and I don't know what to think now.

I know AEW has been pretty decent so far in having a face vs face match without either having to turn heel in a "surprise" move. But I can't shake the feeling that Punk is going to do a swerve and join up with a faction by the end of his match and stomp Darby into the mud for heat. I also hope that is not the case.
