I have been playing with smartctl lately. Does anyone know how to parse the output file of smartctl -a /dev/XXX for impending failure? There are several attributes that I would like to monitor and if they increase, it would be awesome to receive an email or notification. CrystalDisk Windows has a nifty email and seems to tag a drive as "CAUTION" when it detects errors. Linux/smartctl will happily report "SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED" on a failing drive. Even though certain attributes are starting to fail..

My Google-Fu is terrible today.
