Dan is good, and without Graham and Ryan in the mix Yaz is actually getting to do something for a change which was nice. We in America aren't done with the ep yet!

If you think of Flux in the sense of a classic series 6 part story, then it was a traditional episode 3 of a 6 episode story.

OldMemes posted:Sylvester McCoy is great at light comedy and also being really sinister. I'm always baffled at the people who don't like his Doctor. I can't remember the details, but something had happened after the recording of Loups-Garoux which rendered the recordings unlistenable to the point where BF thought they were just going to have to write the whole thing off as a loss. They even said it was a miracle that the sound engineer was able to restore them to the point where it was salvageable.

Jerusalem posted:Haha, seriously? I mean, it's already like trying to understand the inner workings of some alien, insectoid mind when I try to perceive of watching Doctor Who with commercial breaks, but that really takes the cake! To be fair, they couldn't air the trailer at the end of the ep; they had a repeat of the movie Armageddon to get to! (Armageddon was also the film airing before tonight's Who ep) But yeah, watch an ep on DVD/streaming, and whenever there's a scene change every 5-7 minutes, pause it for 2-3 minutes. But make sure you catch the initial airing! Because if you catch the ep when BBC America repeats it, they edit the hell out of the longer eps to fit within a 42-45 minute runtime. Big Finish just announced that their license to make Doctor Who has been extended to 2030! To put it in perspective, if they were the TV series, starting with William Hartnell, that would take them up to the Tenth Doctor's year of specials. Quotey posted:RTD's first episode. The Doctor opens the watch, walks to the Lungbarrow House, opens the door and... SUPRISE! Every companion from every audio drama, comic, mini, TV episode/serial, movie, and book reality come in with everything for a HUGE party for the Doctor's 60th! For "The Stolen Earth", when the Doctor and Donna arrived at The Shadow Proclamation, RTD's plan was for it to feature representatives of every alien that had been seen in the new series since the beginning ... and when the budget came back, it got cut down to a couple of Judoon.
