The G1 overperformed given it's participants, the N-1 underperformed outside of the great final night. Now it's DDT's turn to have a big tournament full of great wrestlers doing some great wrestling. Most of the big names are here and we also have the addition of BJW's Yuji Okabayashi and The Bodyguard of Colega Pro. Winner will earn a shot at Openweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita, most likely early next year. Here is a nice little primer for each of the competitors to wet your appetite, and no doubt the absolute hero Mr. Haku will be providing live translations and other tidbits from each show.

A Block (L to R): Bodyguard, Yuji Hino, Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama, Yuki Ueno, Naomi Yoshimura

B Block (L to R): Chris Brookes, Kazusada Higuchi, HARASHIMA, Konosuke Takeshita, MAO, Yuji Okabayashi

Smile. Win. Yay!

24 hours until night 1 (2pm JST, 1am EDT, 5am GMT) so thought i'd bump this to the front page with my thoughts.

I'm considering several factors when trying to predict the winner:
- Unless the champion is winning the tournament, the winner should always come from the opposite block so the company isn't running back a matchup so soon, i'm declaring the winner will come from A Block
- The final night of block matches will be the most important. This means that even without knowing the block order, we can discount Hino, Yoshimura, MAO, and Chris Brookes as they finish their block matches on the 14th when the other 8 have their final match on the 21st
- Bodyguard is a guest star so he'll do well, but I can't imagine them pulling the trigger on him (like they did Akiyama last year) since he's not signed and will most likely not be with the company long term.

This means, as far as i'm concerned the three probable winners are Endo, Akiyama, and Ueno. Takeshita won the belt off Akiyama (so I doubt he'll challenge again so soon) and Endo is still going through an identity crisis and won't be in the best state of mind for this tournament, therefore my horse in this tournament in Takeshita's 37KAMIINA stablemate Yuki Ueno. After losing the Universal championship in less than clean circumstances I think this could be his chance to take a step up into the main event scene

It's like goldy or bronzy, but made of iron.

Considering Ueno a favourite, as that would create some excellent stable tension. I had considered that they could use this as an opportunity to strap a rocket on the Super Big Lad and give Hino some solid credibility, but what you say about the ending nights makes sense. Unless the last tournament night is Endo trying to block Ueno from getting the win he needs to take the block.

Other random predictions:

- Hino vs Endo will be unexpectedly brutal as the former Damnation members work some stuff out.
- Chrissy B will continue his three year streak of getting a tournament win over Konosuke Takeshita
- There will be an unexpected Ironman Heavymetalweight title match either before, after, or during a match in the tournament.

Two hour countdown to the main card, and the preshow starting 45 minutes earlier.

Happy to see Kojima back, and I really enjoyed Ishida's debut so looking forward to seeing how he does with less experienced opposition

...Can we have the radio?
Idk who most of these people are but based purely on how cool I think they look I'm going for Yuji Hino in A Block and Yuji Okabayashi in B Block.

All Yuji final baby.

Those are some drat good choices my man, I would definiitely be happy with a Yujibowl in the finals. Get those two beefy bastards thorwing each other about without a care in the world

e: also looking at the cast photos again it's fun the choices of formalwear among the 37KAMIINA members. Takeshita as the champ is wearing the full three-piece, Ueno is roicking a nice looking suit and tie. MAO decided to wear a shirt and camo pants, because of course he did
