No, not even then

These people have all determined that white supremacy takes a higher priority than god, country, or family, do not reward them with your company

Also, the irony of spending the 4th of July with a bunch of abusive seditionists is too funny

I'm not sure if I got a bigger laugh from the part where he says all the guards are African immigrants who have been taught to hate America and beat them for singing the national anthem, or the part where he says THE GOVERNMENT HAS CANCELED ME and then describes how his imprisonment has cost him his business and his home. Because that's what canceling is.

These psychos can't even issue a cry for help against (supposed) prison brutality without pandering to their audience's need for political purity.

I think the texas abortion ban might have been designed intentionally to send to the supreme court, based on a strategy of purposefully including extremely horrible parts as sacrificial buffers.

If the abortion ban was just the 6 week/heartbeat thing, they would just have to up or down the process and the news would be "Supreme court allows/denies abortion ban"

Instead they can now ever so graiously strip off entire wads of the whole blatantly unconstitutional abortion bounty hunter / citizen deputizing bullshit, carving down the majority of the bill

... but, of course, leave the actual abortion ban in place in service of their demented ideology.

The reason why I think they're playing these games is because they're at least aware that they have to play it carefully with the legitimacy of the supreme court. Like, they know they can't just go all-in on the process of restructuring american law in service of a narrow right-wing dominant attitude.

The upcoming Mississippi case is likely a decision between SCOTUS allowing TRAP laws to gut Roe without technically overturning it, or outright overturning it, so the Texas case won't matter by next summer.

I'd guess they'll probably shoot down the Texas case, since it lets Roberts "preserve the image of the court", while also heading off any attempts by states like California to pass similar Calvinball laws allowing people to sue gun owners or something.

"Says that progressives aren't compromising enough"

That says it all right there.

The bill has been reduced from 6 trillion to 3.5 trillion to 1.75 trillion, but the progressives "aren't compromising enough". It's literally "Give me everything I want and nothing you want and we'll call it bipartisan, ask for anything and I walk away" with Manchin. I hope Pelosi brings the bipartisan bill up to vote and the progressive caucus just kills it at this point. I'm happy they held off on voting for it, because this is how Manchin is acting WHEN THEY HAVE A BILL HE WANTS PASSED. Imagine how he would be acting if the Bipartisan bill had been passed.

Nobody here gives a poo poo that Biden is getting criticized. Somehow that seems to be missing from this discussion. "Why should we care if they say 'gently caress Joe Biden' if he sucks?" Nobody cares to defend Biden, that's not the thing at all. I have a couple of more right-wing extended family members and I'm pretty sure if I went and burned their houses down it would not help either our personal relationship or effect any sort of political change.

Does the idea need to scale up to be effective? If 1,000 of us burned down the homes of our right-wing relatives would that start to make a difference?

e: I realize I am making an assumption here that when you said "throw a molotov through the window" you just want to burn down the racist uncle's home, and not that you should kill the racist uncle. If you meant actually kill your uncle then I apologize for assuming.

If you're going to have a lot of suffering people in your country it helps for them to be the most indoctrinated and the American South is where we put a lot of our suffering. That then has a compounding effect.
