I suppose. I'm not sure the SEGA Genesis/MD NSO apps are all that popular even though the emulation is very good.

That seems like a sound plan. I keep forgetting DQ11 has a massive demo. And if you enjoy Pokémon, more power to you. I didn't enjoy Sword/Shield that much and frankly I think I'll only get remakes of Blue/Red from here on out because I've come to terms that I only like that franchise for its nostalgia factor these days.
I stopped at the Ruby/Sapphire remakes and X/Y games myself and that was just because I had a ton of time to waste in Uni but I grinded those out until I almost had every living pokemon at the time. Sun/Moon never captured me and neither did Sword/Shield

If you've literally never played an RPG before, it'd be remiss not to mention Chrono Trigger -- it's not on Switch, unfortunately, but it's an excellent option if you have a Nintendo DS lying around (or your phone, I guess). Chrono Trigger is the quintessential jRPG and I always recommend it to friends who've never played one; if they don't dig it, I tell them to skip the entire genre.

If it has to be on Switch, FFX has my vote, or FF9 if you want something a little more retro.

Ooh man, I don't know that I would tell someone to skip the entire genre altogether, but Chrono Trigger is absolutely a must play video game across the board.

That's not the emulator, it's the connection. They have a bad connection that is stuttering frame by frame. SNES and NES emulator uses rollback and you don't get this kind of effect, but N64 doesn't for some reason and requires both sides to be perfectly synced.

As to why they are playing a single player game multiplayer, you can do that to show the game to your friend or move a little cursor around on screen to show your friend where to go.

It's weird that they don't use rollback in this because they recently started using it in their games and even changing already released games like Super Mario Party to use it

I haven't had any problems with the N64 or Genesis/MD online so far. So far i played Mario Kart and Dr. Mario 64 online with 3 people (one of which was wireless and experienced no issues with lag or these weird sound issues. The emulation is definitely far from perfect but from what ive experienced so far, nothing completely atrocious has happened either.

The games that decided "X and Y's multiplayer features were too convenient. Remove them and shove in this slow and convoluted city menu" are definitely not the best in a multiplayer focused series like Pokemon.
