At the time, as a new mod without any experience, I thought that was reasonable. We were also talking about an IK rotation and were already thinking of giving gradenko a break because they had been an IK for a long time, so we treated it as the admins just preempting something that probably would have happened a few weeks later anyway. That all said, people make mistakes and that's okay. It's not like the mods are perfect decision-making robots who never gently caress anything up, and so one mistake doesn't have to be the final word on the subject. Speaking for myself, I'm open to having gradenko back as an IK if they want to come back. I think they're a good contributor to CSPAM (although obviously not every good contributor has to be an IK or mod) and were otherwise a solid IK. I would say that even if it doesn't happen right now, they're a name high on our list for the next IK rotation, which we're intending to do more often than in the past.

I'm certainly up for increased punishment on right wing dipshits, but separate from that, I'd just like to say that I'm so goddamn proud of how this forum has handled the Rittenhouse poo poo. Every other forum ended up needing to close their threads and you all trolled the poo poo out of anyone dumb enough to try it here. Won't speak for any other mods but I know I'm watching that thread closely to make sure that no one needs to be escorted out, and I really haven't seen much need for it. If folks see something and think we need to step it up, definitely up for changing direction, but that's how I'm seeing it now.
