Qatar are the reigning Asian champions from 2019, and they beat Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Japan in that tournament. Not saying they're world beaters because they clearly aren't, but they might well surprise a few people here

Mind you it would be extremely funny if they beat Ecuador 1-0 in the opening game thanks to a dodgy second-half goal, so I hope that's what happens

Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Infantino, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Applying them to draws is nonsensical and would hugely distort how the game is played. My guess is they would make the game more defensive and encourage smaller teams to grind out draws when they would otherwise chase a goal. Certainly it would induce teams to spend a lot more time training for pens as opposed to, you know, the game.

100% this, but not just smaller teams. Big teams would do it too.

Remember when they had the "golden goal" rule (ie next goal wins) for extra time, thinking that it would encourage more attacking play. Instead it did the exact opposite, as teams dug in and preferred to take their chance with penalties, rather than the risk of committing players forward and getting caught short on the counter.

No they aren't, there's a separate team for the players, I have friends that do crowd medical work in the prem. It's the same for major tournaments.

This might just be a really unfortunate case of a massive pulmonary embolism in someone suffering from a viral illness but there's always going to be a question mark of his body doesn't get transferred back to the state's soon.

That can absolutely happen though, a friend’s dad had a massive heart attack walking out of Old Trafford earlier this year, and despite immediate attention from doctors, CPR, an AED and being rushed to hospital within minutes, his heart just never started again. He wasn’t that old either, and in reasonable health.

Not saying that’s happened here, and I really hope there’s an open, honest and genuine investigation (preferably an independent one) because everyone deserves to know the truth.
