Is this the right subforum to post this? I like having conversations with conservatives on Reddit, and I am often boggled by the way so many of them just don't understand how the world works. In a dictatorship, only one person is susceptible to bribes or whatever, but in a democracy this extends to all eligible voters. It's a lot easier to see why conservatives are seduced by conspiracy theories and con men leaders because a lot of them just don't understand how things work. A week ago I started this thread in r/politicalsparring asking them some logic questions such as "why weren't Vindman and Sondland prosecuted for perjury if they lied about Trump?" and "why didn't Barr bust the Democrats if they rigged the election, considering the Republicans held the power?". The mental gymnastics are extraordinary.

A thing I pointed out in that second thread is that you don't see many Democrats coming out with tell-all books about how hosed up the Democratic Party is. We've gotten quite a few from ex-Republicans, a few even before the Trump era, but so far nothing from the Democrats. Their response is either that Hillary and Obama are intimidating them into silence. Or they name unrelated government whistleblowers such as Edward Snowden. They can't think straight.

That's not true, there are some: Big Bad Brother From Kenya by Malik Obama about BO. Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats' Campaign to Defeat Trump about BO Plenty more. Lots of people talking about the Clinton's time in Arkansas. I remember when HRC released a scathing tell-all about herself where she talked about owning slaves.

for real reddit conservatives have to be at least half bots... way more and NOTHING on r/conservative is every anything other than lets go brandon memes, misinformation regarding covid or just morons sharing stories that are pathetic to anyone normal.... its never actual things they want changed or real policy reform.. its like "war on chris" "gas prices are up" "brave DeSantis removes all restrictions from florida" What is there to read or argue about? they are either fake people or the scum of the earth and will ban you if you make one point they don't like

I love posting on reddit. I find a random thread, post a shitpost and then log off lol. Next time I log in I have a bunch of nerds who spent ages forming responses. I don't reply, it's just funny.
