Why is this still called Dakar and not Saudi Baja Blast? Anyway, I caught a video interview with a Dakar motorcyclist the other day, had a horrible accident and basically had to rebuild himself physically and mentally. Pretty moving. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWl1GpJ5AOo e: oh woops it's in the op. my bad.

If you're tired of hunting down the relevant info on Instagram, Youtube, etc., the Dakar subreddit is pretty convenient https://old.reddit.com/r/DAKAR/

Yeah I remember seeing that 911 as a kid, thinking how cool it looked. The other memorable rallye cars were probably the Audi Quattro and the Lancia.

What's in the back of those Dakar trucks? Nothing? Water, to meet a certain weight threshold?

builds character posted:Mostly nothing, but they do carry tools and spare tires which are huge. It also depends on if they're one of the trucks that's really racing or a support truck entered into the race with the real purpose of carrying spare parts. If the latter, spare parts. You can see from this video that there really isn't a whole lot in there though. 1-2 litres of diesel per kilometre, jfc
