iirc the whole point of creating AF was to have a site dedicated to pointing out 'problematic' 'non-feminist' things in new series so that people reading preview guides like that know if the anime they're interested in has something that they just can't stomach or no. so it is intentionally made a bit like a checklist of wholesome or not. but they discuss things in more detail and nuance in their podcast or articles, it's just that the preview guide hasn't evolved much past its initial purpose
