I will go to bat for Ultimate X-Men run by Millar even though he does that annoying thing I mentioned about his Ultimates run. The stories are fun and stupid and it managed to somehow, beyond all possibility, get a good story by Chuck Austen in there. Mind blowing. The weird thing about Ultimate X-Men is after Millar left it got some top talent on it (Bendis, BKV, Kirkman) but just kept getting worse and worse. Bendis run had some good stuff in it but there was the awful Deadpool arc in there which decided that the Ultimate version of Deadpool would be the absolute opposite of his 616 counterpart.

They banned Maus because people, in 2022, were worried about the phrase "god drat" and nudity, which I think was shown either in Auschwitz or when Spiegelman shows his mother killing herself. The meeting minutes are a wonder, they talked about it for 19 pages. Nothing else happened in the meeting, it was all about Maus.

In less depressing news, they're doing Marvel Zombicide on Kickstarter. I'm not all too familiar with the game, but I'm frankly tempted. I mean if nothing else there's a box for 25 bucks that has Spidey, Daredevil and Elektra-as-Daredevil (plus Old Man Hawkeye & Logan and...Marshal Bullseye? It's an artist's choice box, so whatever) miniatures. I guess given the core set comes with a whole army of SHIELD agents and there's also a whole bunch of hero miniatures you could do a Civil War hack and not actually engage with the zombie content at all.
