And he would have absolutely been eviscerated by this community if he had ever sold out the site to a corporation when it was at its peak. 95% of goons were always sucking him off, probably myself included, long past when he deserved it in any way. he 100% had a massive victim complex right up to the millisecond he pulled the trigger

Eh, not necessarily true. I came back here after a long hiatus of lurking specifically because it wasn't Reddit or Twitter -- I'd be able to find quality discussion about relatively niche interests that wouldn't be flooded with crap and toxicity. It's a blessing that the remaining userbase has matured, even if Lowtax never did. And it's a good thing that crypto bros and MAGA freaks, to name two particular constituencies, get laughed out of here. I can log onto almost any other discussion website and get all of that poo poo I can handle, and then some.

This site, based purely on the paywall alone, has been an oasis of insightful poo poo compared to the rest of the internet. Purging the 4chan oriented chuds over the years has certainly helped. The fact that we went from adolescent smilies like  to goon-cringe smilies like  says a lot about the moral compass here.
