Then he had to talk to the loving Secret Service because some proto-channers (wait, when did LF get shut down?) IIRC were trying to crowdsource assassinating a president.

As an insane-long-time-lurker, IMO if there were truly an BC/AD moment with SA, especially w/r/t the forums, it was when LF was shut down.

I feel like the creation of Hell Dump was at least as big a moment. Aside from the doxing and all that poo poo that went on, it really marked a turn from a certain strain of nerkbeardyness that had been really common. That's when "goon" really started to become a term of derision.

Earning 200K for a few years isn't going to make you wealthy in the long term. Especially if the pillars of your financial plan are "Lease a GTO" and "Rent your own personal strip-mall Ambien den."

Pretty stunning the forums were earning as much as they were as late as they were though.
