Fun fact; No Guts, No Glory is also the name of the ending track for the old Galaxy Rangers cartoon from the late 80's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmDckVV5vxQ Frankly it's a real banger of a track.

I dismissed it as just another name-drop. Fin Fang Foom. I mean, wasn't he initially another "yellow peril" bad guy for Iron Man, who got retconned into being an alien?

Episode 21: Dragon Attack I hope you like extremely dated Trogdor references. This should also be the last episode named after a song NOT on the GotG soundtrack (for those interested, the others were "Space Doggity" and "Infinite Dreams"). Speaking of episodes, I'm hoping to get more frequent updates going again so we can finish this thing soon. 4K is still processing, as usual. Y'know, those tentacle things look like those weird thingies in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Wendigos originate from Native American myths. Basically a malevolent spirit which possesses human beings, causes them insatiable greed including cannibalism. They look like exhumed corpses. In Marvel comics, he was a Hulk villain who looks like a white Sasquatch with a tail. Interesting thing is that the Marvel Legends release of Wendigo came with parts for the Build-A-Figure Fin Fang Foom!

I do kind of wish Marvel would stop using the character that's appropriated from the mythology of First Nations people.Rigged Death Trap posted:Bit of a choice to have foom just be a big dragon but i guess no more new characters introduced batring the Ruby Thursday cameo. Yeah, that archive log in her camp was referencing some of the other members of the Headmen, Chondu the Mystic and Arthur Nagan, aka Gorilla Man - the man with a human head grafted onto the body of a six-hundred pound gorilla.

Thor and Loki, obviously, but Fin Fang Foom was very obviously a Chinese dragon (and that's where he crashed? I think?). Captain America "appropriated" the Nazi ubermensch, which I always found to be a great "take-that".

That is true, but unlike Norse mythology, the Wendigo is part of the spiritual beliefs of a culture that still exists today, and something that Western media tends to get the details of completely wrong. I haven't been able to find a reliable source on this, but I have heard that some of these cultures consider it taboo to discuss or depict it at all. I feel like by retconning Foom into an alien, they've managed to do enough to divorce him from his original racist origins, whereas doing that with the Wendigo is impossible. Of course, I'm not Chinese or indigenous, so I wouldn't have the final say on any of this.

Episode 22: Where Eagles Dare INTO THE NIGHT THEY FALL THROUGH THE SKYYYYY NO ONE SHOULD FLY WHERE EAGLES DAAAAAAAAAAAAARE *ahem* Yes, it's time to take the fight to the bad guys once and for all, and things get pretty spectacular. Nikki's deal is kind of unclear in this game. It is implied that she was at least blonde or something else unnatural for a Kree all along, since they kept a hair-dying apparatus around to fool that Kree Purity Council. But I don't think they could have hidden it if she had fire hair.

Ah yeah, agree with the sentiment the writing is stellar but the combat is lacklustre. At least they almost knew that by adding the difficulty settings to make you breeze through it. Also no idea if Embracer is the only one with the Marvel license as Firaxis is working on Midnight Suns, the Marvel XCOM game. And they're part of 2K. This was... Yeah, I still hold it is good despite it's faults. But as it was pointed out, the combat was too repetitive and the combat barks got a little old, even though the dialogue scenes were generally fantastic. Also, yeah, Pratt wouldn't have been able to pull off the chops for the heavier scenes.
