Did they end up figuring out what Brexit was supposed to be? I've asked the question before but the answer still seems a bit unclear.

Gotta say, I kept a level head pretty much all the way through covid but our idiot press/politician soup going with "but what if nuclear war is good, actually?" has knocked me for six. What the gently caress is happening?

Embarrassing scenes on the morning news today. Some idiot British reporter asking “but why are you doing this?” to people at the border offering refugees a lift in their car, and then wandering over to a group of women heading back into Ukraine to fetch their kids / family and saying (I wish I was kidding) “are you all off on a girl’s night out then?” I know they don’t exactly fill the morning slot with their best and brightest but come on.

More proof that he's entirely leaning on the Wes Streeting/Piss Var wing for advice. "We can't do popular things, they must be wrong, therefore unpopular dithering is right" is their bread and butter or whatever horrific unpopular thing they eat. Balls of tinfoil or something.

Its "we need to look tough on Putin and tough on immigration" but they don't want to look callous on the second half of that. So instead of explicitly coming down against welcoming Ukrainian refugees, they fall back on the phrase "we need a simplified process" when dealing with applications, which as far as I can tell means "we need a better website". Its also well within the liberal framework. They'll quite happily demand an escalation of violence against Russia but they sure as gently caress don't want a Ukrainian moving in next door.

wtf you totally can live off yellow sticker food, don't even have to go shopping that much, just bung it all in the freezer. It actually really irks me that it's so much cheaper to live off reduced ready meals than it is to cook fresh. I like cooking, it chills me out in the evening In other news, I was just in an emergency Union meeting full of over 100 loving moderates, one actual confessed union scab, and exactly 4 people with any appetite for escalation. One of whom was responsible for assembling the working group on what further action should be taken & guess which 3 other people are in it lmao
