Get this: ska existed before reggae. Ska is Jamaicans picking up soul and rnb radio from the US and putting their own spin on it. Two-tone is when those Jamaicans migrated to the UK and started playing in bands with the locals. When people on the internet say ska they usually mean US ska-influenced punk which had two-tone as an influence. Hope that helps op.

I like some ska but not other ska and I don't care if you think that's dumb I'm living my own life, DAD. Also Smash Mouth isn't ska they're not very good is what they are. However if you are in Smash Mouth and reading this, you still did pretty good on the 'getting famous for a good while, there' thing and lots of people never do that so that must have been alright I bet that was fun for a while.
