Didnt read the OP but when i was in the army I met a man who liked to listen to the Steel Panthers 2 soundtrack on his cassette Walkman. He had gone through some effort to record it.. And it wasn't because he was trying to get into the military groove or anything, he just liked the music. Because i'm a loving goon I became friends with him and a some years later I ended up marrying his sister. I've ridiculed him for 20 years about the Steel Panthers and afaik he doesn't rock that poo poo anymore. It's fair to say that I literally love that man but goddamnit it still cracks me up.

"Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts" got poo poo on by most for not being a traditional platformer (personally, I loved it) but one thing that was unobjectively amazing was the soundtrack.

The hub world had different zones which all had their own variation of the main theme, so one part of town sounded like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wU2ujUKYlk4

And another side of town sounded like this!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4XMe9RD2M8

And then you'd go to the docks and this was the music!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmIp4XRyCwA

And it all blended together! How cool is that?

The different worlds also had vastly different music that centered around a few common themes. I loved the test track music.

Why walk when you can ride?
When we moved a few months ago there was a two day period where there was no internet and we couldn't find any of the cords for the Bluetooth speakers and had to make do with whatever music was in my steam library. Nebuchadnezzar has a lot of faults as a mesopotamian city builder game but the soundtrack is amazing and super chill. Thank you Nebuchadnezzar for having a great soundtrack and being easy to find in my folders.

It‘s so nice of you guy to let me, after five pages, post the best video game soundtracks (yeah yeah in my opinion, whatever whatever)

Top 3 - Super Meat Boy has been mentioned, but only the isaac ost has been posted, so here goes:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MFk59SOOUGw&list=PL1A86CAFBA7B7323E&index=5

Top 2 - Mechwarrior 2 The soundtrack came as redbook audio tracks on the CD, that was awesome (hope the timestamp thingy works - nope it doesn‘t but there really is no bad part here just skip around a bit)

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mdfLQBYGSog&t=852s

Top 1 Cuphead It‘s a massive amount of big band music and it‘s all great. The makers of the game bugged Kristopher Maddigan until he gave in, noting they probably didn’t know any other musicians.
