Because we now live in some sort of hellscape, I can't really take many podcasts that aren't about pointless silly stuff like videogames. So, Retronauts, HG101's Top 47k Games list, the CUpodcast, and maybe once in a while, Ho Yeah!, the king of the hill podcast.

They put a lot of effort into editing their LP down to just the most fun bits, and there's some extremely entertaining banter. I'm rather enjoying two star wars podcasts that spend a lot of time dunking on how messed up star wars is. Expounded Universe covers old licensed novels A More Civilized Age covers the TV shows Hyperbolic Game Chamber was amazing while it is active, but the hosts have stepped away for a bit to deal with real life stuff. As for casts that aren't all about video games and shows...Trashfuture and Hardcore History already got mentioned. Lions Led by Donkeys is a fun history podcast with a leftist perspective, Well There's Your Problem is an absolute delight of a podcast about engineering disasters.

You’re Wrong About is still really good, even after co-host Michael Hobbes (who is an absolute treasure of a human being) left it to start another outstanding podcast, Maintenance Phase I also love Behind the Bastards, I Don’t Speak German (coverage of the far right), Death Panel (leftist podcast about health issues), Decoding the Gurus (two funny academics take apart guru figures with extreme incisiveness), and Very Bad Wizards It occurs to me that I should probably listen to more podcasts about topics other than terrible people, things that are dumb, or dumb, terrible people...

I would very much need a specific and unique theme or idea, and even then... The ads on the greenlit podcast network are awful. The lassie one, and really any others who advertise their podcast as" a couple of friends talking about nerd stuff!" is just bleh. So many of them come off as very much 'oh, we do that, too!' shows.

Not much into podcasts, really the only one I regualary check out is Opening Arguments because the guy actually knows what he's talking about and so provides useful professional commentary to current events. Sawbones is good for weird or current event medical topics.
