Gentleman Baller posted:I'm curious, if you think the fairness argument is invalid/silly because sports aren't fair, would you be okay with trans women who haven't undergone HRT competing in women's sports, since they are women? It is already the case that over 99% of women will never be able to compete at the top level of a sport. It's also the case that over 99% of men will never be able to compete at the top level of a sport.

If the forum is going to allow bigotry as if providing a platform for reasoned discourse doesn't lend legitimacy at least let people respond with the indecorous ridicule that any bigotry rightly deserves.

If a sport is going to be segregated by performance capacity it should be done purely on that metric. Trying to use an abstract label like gender as an analog is simply a mistake. Anyhow if you're going to focus on ability focus on ability, not as some relative difference in average ability between two arbitrarily defined subgroups.

Colonel Cool posted:Way to literally cut out the back half of the sentence you're quoting. How dishonest! No I read the whole thing, but none of the rest of it matters if you aren't accepting that women are women, and none of the rest is relevant to women's sports if you do.

Colonel Cool posted:Should trans women not on HRT be allowed to participate in college+ level women's sports? Yes, women should be allowed to compete in women's sports if you're going to have a "women's sports" category.
