There's also characters with zero plot importance that could be cut, but most people wouldn't want them cut because they're cute/cool (Leah, Draggy, Orlha, Pip, Turnip, Mojo, and as much as I hate to admit it because I like her a lot, Razzly). I would absolutely keep at least Van, Luccia, Skelly, and Poshul out of the throwaway characters you listed.
