Neat!

Been playing with Disco Diffusion mostly with the default settings and just changing the nature of the prompt. It's nice to know we will never run out of fantasy/scifi cover art.

Really fun just seeing what it spits out.

Lighthouse

Knight fights a demon on a castle tower

A winged demon raises the dead

A portrait of the devil

A dragon at the edge of a volcano

A monster made of mushrooms that glow

Dystopian scifi skyscraper

The grim reaper surrounded by ghosts in a graveyard

At some point it's effectively the AI determining the "Cool S" of all components of human language translated to image.

Which feels a bit like some sort of weird backwards human dopamine training exchange.

It's possible in a generation or two of AI that we'll be able to ask it to generate a script about anything it can imagine, animate, and voice act it, for say something visually well defined like the Simpsons.

An old notion but from the character perspective, is there any functional difference between the AI and God? A universe with a creator. A non-contiguous reality.

Same, been waiting since first week of June for an invite.

Running it on local hardware doesn't seem like the way things will go, and I worry what a future looks like where AI becomes common but accessibility and development is limited and controlled by a few giant corporations.

Yeah thats the kind of tools Im hoping to see become feasible. Using the ai to generate individual elements and then merge them all coherently. Be interesting once they get to the point where 3d geometry instructions and pose uploading and stuff becomes common.

I wonder if it's possible with something like stable diffusion to use a simple object prompt, then reuse the seed with rotation information prompts, and pull images to reconstruct the 3d object with photogrametry.

I'd guess the info is visually mostly correct but may fail to generate enough true physical characteristics to pull the data back together.

AI music is sort of a thing in remixing already. I posted this last year.

TSwift + Daft Punk mixed by the AI. Like most AI art its better than expected but flawed.

It will be what we make of it. If its the best of us or the worst of us is up to us as well. And most likely a mix of both, descended of humanity and human in its own way. Eventually.

It's a little aggressive right now for sure. Hope the reports help. I asked it for 'a blank canvas' a couple days ago and it flagged something in four pictures of mostly empty white space.

I suspect it thought the curve of the pages at the center of an open book was too sexy.

Not sure how pricing works. I seem to have an active membership with no payment details counting down a credit of some kind? Looks like I have 180 some credits left so maybe started with 200. Unlimited was too good to last, and compute costs money but it's too bad, the cost makes it harder to justify messing around testing.

They are still talking like running local will be an option eventually. Can't do much but wait and see.

The AI pornpocalypse and deep fake stuff is going to be a major issue eventually. People already have enough trouble spotting photoshops. Now imagine you can take any picture of anyone anywhere, press Nudify in the latest app and it knows there is a human figure in the photo and replaces their body with a nude match.

Catfishing and scams for sure. Blackmail and abuse. Its going to get wild.

As far as the actual hardware is concerned, if there is a big demand for AI generated content in general, then the hardware will trend in that direction and slapping a bunch of RAM on something is pretty straightforward if theres a market for it.

May see actual dedicated AI hardware in consumer grade equipment in the next few years.
