ban video review of everything except for pucks crossing the goal line. no review of offsides, no review of anything else like hand passes leading to goals in overtime like the Sharks that one time. hockey (and by extension all sports) are human endeavors and with that comes the potential for error and self-reflection on how to improve an imperfect but likely fair system in the long run and that doesn't need to be through increased scrutiny on every single thing. don't feed the industrial sports take ecosystem. be good to each other. namaste. important note: if my team gets screwed in a big spot because of a ref's call, rescind everything I just said and we should turn sports into more of a surveillance state than it already is Bard Maddox fucked around with this message at 17:09 on Jun 23, 2022 |

every coach in the league is a whiner. it’s their jobs to affect games that way and keep the gears of the 24-hour (or 1-hour if you’re the NHL lol) takes machine ever grinding forward that being said, the refs from last night should be shipped into space for a yearlong research project about the effects of space on people lacking spines (personally whining about this one here)

the first time I ever was able to afford NHL.tv to watch the Avalanche it was the 2016-17 season. I watched a lot of that team even though the final results always were the same - just unreal to see where that team went, they’re the champions! of the entire league! Sakic did it!

that’s really bad, crazy that he kept going! he was also apparently seeing an ocular specialist three times a day throughout the playoffs because it wasn’t working correctly. I hope he does get re-signed, he’s the best option the Avs have and I think (hope) maybe the weak eye-injury induced postseason leads to a contract everyone can be happy with. maybe 4x4.5? that was his cap hit on his last contract and isn’t onerous enough to cripple on that term
