I saw a production of this in the early 00s, with my Dad. Before the show started, the actors were running around the audience lighting up fake joints with people. When the main character has his big 'shred my draft card' conflict, an actor came out onstage in an Uncle Sam getup, on stilts. It's supposed to coincide with an acid trip or something, so things went south and these blacklights came on, revealing Uncle Sam to have this terrifying neon voodoo skull image. It was awesome. It gave me that same feeling as the ending of 'The Jungle' did- like you poor deluded fools, your world is hosed your lives are hosed and you're going to turn into the most selfish generation imaginable. You're not only going to become the people you rebelled against you're going to excel at sending children to remote places to die and you're going to eat your children.
