TRP Post of the Month October 2021
10 years after the Agueroooooooo goal City commemorate the anniversary with another bonkers final day 3-2 title decider

https://twitter.com/ManCity/status/1528419204055040001

City win, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Spurs secure Champions League, Everton and Leeds secure their Premier League status, while Burnley, Watford, and Norwich get flushed down to the drain to the Championship. Here's the final table:

Some were happier than others:

https://twitter.com/LUFC/status/1528419696097230852

https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial/status/1528417734677221379

https://twitter.com/ManCity/status/1528447334065000450

But the happiest of all were the other other blues

Some were disappointed:

https://twitter.com/BurnleyOfficial/status/1528425463055515651

But at least they might provide us with some entertainment if they try to protest Everton's spending.

BOTH the Golden Boot and Golden Glove were shared this season:

Salah and Son both had 23 goals

https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1528423716064985091

https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial/status/1528482079759126531

Alisson and Ederson both had 20 clean sheets

RIP BSE. He's watched his team get relegated yet again, but this time they didn't have Grant Holt.

After last season, when I was assessing Wolves' performance, people told me they would get relegated this season. I'm not trying to do an "old takes exposed" here, I certainly didn't have any reason to think otherwise. So if you had told me at the end of last season (or especially after the first month of this season) that they'd finish 10th, I'd be perfectly happy with that. But after they climbed up the table in the middle of the season, the way they totally poo poo the bed every time they almost threatened to claim a European spot from February on is definitely a disappointment.

I dunno if I buy Bruno Lage all the way, but he seems to not have been a total disaster of a hire. Wolves certainly have the pieces in place for at least a few seasons of mid-table mediocrity. Can they do better?

I can't remember a team having a more profoundly boring season than Wolves this year. They seemed to secure their place and then just do absolutely nothing for the second half of the season. Just complete non entities.

That Neves goal was goal of the season for me though.

Southampton did what they always do of going on a good run to get my hopes up before going on a horrible losing streak to finish just above the relagation zone. Now for a few months of having James Ward-Prowse linked to every top half team.

And Everton, they're gonna panic buy so much this summer. Newcastle fans are gonna expect some signings too.

While much has (rightly) been made of our spectacular collapse, I think there should be more scrutiny on Brenda's performance with Leicester last season than there has been. 8th and only a point ahead of Brighton/Wolves is a disaster for that squad imo

Funny old Season for Brighton, if we hadn't lost 8 matches in a row and inexplicably become total dogshit after Christmas we may have threatened the Europa places. Not sure what to expect next Season, depends who we have left after Newcastle have their way with us.

I dunno. Eighth is still top half, and I think everyone expected them to drop a level when Vardy finally got the injury bug.

Not really. They have the 8th biggest wage bill and finished 8th. On paper, who should they be finishing ahead of in the top 7? Maybe West Ham? They overachieved for a couple of seasons while other teams underachieved.

Their midfield is head and shoulders above ours. Quite arguably the defence too.

I’m sure the FA Cup bought Rodgers a lot of goodwill that he has not burned through yet.

I wonder what they do to replace Vardy. I’d be really worried if I was Rodgers given how much their scoring seems to drop off when Vardy’s not available.

And speaking of Vardy, I wonder if the trial is affecting his relationship with other players.
