Found my first gamebreaking bug.

In the elctro-cathedral place, combat starts. My MC proccs Seize the Initiative, gets their first turn of Officer abilities. Only, ending turn just gives her another turn, forever. She can't shoot, nobody else can act. I managed to use Bring it Down and Move, Move, Move to get someone to slowly hack the enemies apart over like 20 turns to see if it was a scripting error for that fight, but the same thing happened on the next one.

Do escort ships that get destroyed in battle go away permanently? Or do they come back next combat

I think it broke. I'm in Act 2, just finished the third planet (did Janus, Dargonus, factory planet). I left after the vision (Heinrix told me we weren't done, but I explored the entire map, got the data vault, did the cursed cogitator thing; only way I could progress was to tell him to gently caress off), and now nothing is happening. No main quest, no coronation. Is there somewhere I have to go? Did the quest triggers break? Wtf do I do.

Regarding Heinrich at the start of (I think) chapter 2:

did I lose him by not offering him a spot on the team when he was all gung ho to rejoin his boss? I don't have the option of taking him to Footfall with me.

Nah, he comes back very soon. Once you finish your business on Footfall, he'll be waiting at your shuttle

I mean, what's your quest log say? Keep in mind Heinrix's thing is a side thing, the actual objective is killing the big mech guy and his pals, behind the CSM. If you did all that then idk.

Yeah, did all that. The "recover what was lost" quest or whatever completed. Just totally broke and I have no clue why or how to remedy it/ what save to load lmao

uhh... maybe now but BG3 was pretty bad on release. It sounds like there are more issues deeper in Rogue Trader but I was running into way more buggy poo poo in BG3's act one then I ever did in 40k's.

I literally had one graphical bug and nothing else in my two playthroughs of BG3, and I played on release. Anecdotes are not data.

Also every second tier Heroic Act is dramatically inferior to the Warrior or Officer ults.

The second tier from Arch Militant gives you a free attack on every turn for the rest of the combat, including extra turns, even ones that don't give AP. Every Move, Move, Move and Bring it Down, free attack.

I got the improved heavy bolter on argenta and it basically takes the game over its knee and spanks it.

Paired with the backpack that adds fire rate and the gloves that completely ignore recoil for burst attacks from the same vendor, it's basically an "I win" button

Well drat, now that I've beat this I don't have any CRPGs left to play. Like I've legit played everything but the old Goldbox games and the like. There's a few I got far in but never beat, but I'm not so sure I'd want to try them all over again.

Well, guess its time to wait for DLC.

I like the portrayal of Eldar on this game. Supercilious, blessed with some sort of psychic appreciation of the world beyond human understanding, but also too emotional and fickle not to constantly step on their own dicks.

They also regularly are shown to be just as fallible and incompetent as anyone else, while completely convinced of their superiority. They're absolutely insufferable and it rocks

I wonder if they had the party size smaller during development but decided to bring it back to previous game 6 before release. There really isn't enough companions for a 6 person party since you spend a lot of the game with only 1 or 2 extra options.

RT, Abelard, Argenta, Cassia, Idira, Jae, Heinrix, Pasqual, Yrliet, Ulfar, Marazhai, and whichever secret companion if you get one is 12. You have 9 by act 3, and 11 by act 4.

Man, that defiler fight looked like it was supposed to be a real boss. After dealing with the stage gimmick, Argenta took out both healthbars with a single burst. Next playthrough will definitely be on Unfair.

By next playthrough, I'd expect some nerfs to Argenta tbh

How long is this segment in Act 3 where you get kidnapped and have no gear and no friends? Because oh my god this poo poo kills me in video games, it's the worst trope in the world and I completely don't want to play anymore

The entire act is in that area, but you will be able to get your companions and gear back relatively quickly. That said, act 3 was by far my least favorite part of the game; I didn't enjoy a single moment of it.

Vastly improved especially on the back end, so many changes to the character abilities and skills that build guides aren't really optimized so if you want to play above normal you'll have to figure out what does and does not work for high level combat.

Oh, I am 100% on the "these things suck" side, but even the Kingmaker system still had some people who liked it. Not making a statement of value (I wish the money and effort put into them was put into the rest of the games instead), just saying that opinions have been very love it or hate it for each of them.

Yeah, I absolutely loved the kingdom management of Kingmaker. It was probably my overall favorite part of the game, and really lent a sense of growth and development to your kingdom. But most people hated it.
