So that's why another character appears later on. Season 3 has been great so far because Lynch obviously has full creative control. In episode 8, the entire thing is just bizarre imagery surrounding the Trinity test and poo poo happening in New Mexico in the 40s and 50s. I have no idea if it will ever connect to the plot except very loosely.

I still liked Season 2, but it was clear that Lynch was having to walk a tight rope and he hates that poo poo. Season 3 has been insanely good so far. My gf hates that Cooper hasn't come back yet, i.e. the real Cooper, but I'm suspecting that won't happen until the penultimate or final episode. That would suck, but everything else has been phenomenal. The one thing that saddens me is that so many of these actors just dropped dead right after this was made. Hell, David Bowie never had a chance to be in it, and I heard that Lynch really wanted his character expanded on in this season.
