I really want everyone involved in that response out of law enforcement at a minimum, civil liability or criminal charges for being tremendous cowards

What if instead of consequences our elected leaders on the national stage say we need to support law enforcement, increase the funding for LEO and in TX they charge parents of dead kids and nobody is held accountable and it's chalked up as a tragic event that couldn't have gone any other way?

We're doing that real great

I’ve discussed this in a few places and we’re talking about it some in the lawgoon thread.

Twitter has Musk over a barrel. They’re suing for specific performance because the contract Musk wrote has that as the penalty for breach.

The $1bn in liquidated damages only occurs if he cannot get financing. He already has financing. Banks have issued the bonds. He has to put in more personally than he originally intended, but he has the money.

The Delaware court of chancery is built upon the provision that clear and unambiguous contractual terms will be enforced. If a judge started ignoring terms or rewriting contracts, one of the biggest reasons everyone is incorporated in Delaware disappears.

Musk may not be forced to buy Twitter by the court, but that only happens if they settle first. The settlement price right now is around $16-17b which is the difference in current share price and what Musk offered.

The complaint from Twitter is very well written and is easy for a layperson to read. The judge in this case doesn’t gently caress around, and, earlier this year, has ordered specific performance when a buyer attempted to use bad faith tactics to tank the deal.

This court also moves fast. There will be resolution by October - either Musk will own Twitter or Twitter will be paying a hell of a dividend to shareholders.

You'd think Musk would have better lawyers than Lionel Hutz just kidding he doesn't listen to anyone that isn't a brain broke sychophant

Still likely to amount to gently caress-all, but sounds like enough people are testifying to grand juries that they couldn't keep a lid on it anymore. A lot of Pence people testifying too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't the quite substantial NATO/KFOR contingents in Kosovo (and surrounding nations) lay the smackdown on Serbia pretty quickly if it was was seriously concluded that they're on the warpath? Or maybe the Serbs are counting on their fancy new Chinese air defense systems to keep that from happening.

Balkans gonna balkan I guess.
