Doctor Teeth posted:depth must be absolute poo poo to keep the back line unchanged sjögren has been an absolutely dreadful coach for the national team. we lost 7-0 to the netherlands last year which was our biggest defeat ever until tonight. he also loves playing mjelde out of position as a defender when she's one of the best midfielders we have and thorisdottir shouldn't have been picked at all for the past like 4 years. she consistently fucks up once every game and i have no idea how she keeps getting picked over the plethora of good defenders we have in the domestic league, but i guess he favours players in foreign leagues. frankly he should be booted out the second the euros is over and replaced with Hege Riise who has a very good track record in the domestic league and just helmed the u19 womens to their first euro final since 2013 or something like that. she's the best womens coach we have and its a freaking shame she's been passed over on several occasions by the NFF

He has one plan, which is very scoutable (Wiegman certainly seems to have figured him out) and relies on controlling the match, and he's absolutely useless at changing things up when that doesn't work. So in practice we have three of the best attackers in the world and a system designed to keep them from getting the ball against anything above bottom-tier opposition. And after Moe Wold retired we just stopped bringing actual full-backs, which was extremely apparent with Blakstad in the first half.

that match was a complete disgrace. the players underperformed and got a soft penalty early on which made them visibly reluctant to do active defending, but sjögren's defensive system is insanely bad and he should be out of a job literally tomorrow. literally no defense involved in half the goals, and with the quality of the players involved that's clearly on the match plan. i was genuinely angry by half time lol bring in hege riise tomorrow pls this swede is clearly some kind of saboteur out to avenge 1905
