Live from The Tsongas Center in Lowell, MA, it's the second Ring of Honor pape under the purview of AEW's own Tony Khan. We've got brother vs brother, returning ROH Legends, bitter blood feuds, SIX title matches, and a rematch to what many consider to be THE Match of the Year. And Brian Cage. So let's get to the card! (available to purchase on Bleacher Report, and probably whatever weird VPN poo poo you all do) For the Ring of Honor World Title: https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1548140810905849857?s=20&t=SVYUlycoP97KMxt5KFSDew Claudio was supposed to make his debut for this match, but he decided to show up earlier in AEW to join the Blackpool Combat Club and beat the crap out of Stab's Boys instead. Smart choice. But now that that's over with, he's set his sights on the ROH World title, as a World's single title has eluded him his entire career (not helped by a newly retired crazy man thinking Claudio talked funny.) "The Foundation" Jonathan Gresham is the undisputed ROH World Champion after defeating Bandido to unify the belts at Supercard of Honor 2022. He had a successful defense against former World Champion Dalton Castle at AEW's Battle of the Belts, impressing many of those who had never seen him wrestle before. But who did the Champion impress the most? Tully Blanchard, the head of Tully Blanchard Enterprises, who not only convinced Gresham to turn his back on Lee Moriarty in a tag team match, but also convinced Gresham to turn his back on his fans, and join his stable of wrestlers. Will Claudio achieve his lifelong goal of becoming World Champion? Will Jonathan Gresham, once the epitome of honor, do whatever it takes to retain the belt that he believes defines him? Will Tully Blanchard Enterprises be a factor in the match? One thing's for certain: this match in going to be a banger. Speaking of banger matches, For the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Titles: https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1545819179525087232?s=20&t=SVYUlycoP97KMxt5KFSDew At Supercard of Honor, The Briscoes and FTR put on what some called the greatest tag team match in history. A match between two teams who had never been in the ring together before, fighting not only for the ROH World Tag Team titles, but for the bragging rights over who just was the better team. After a violent fight that saw both teams throwing everything at one another*, FTR came out on top, and came out as champions. An immediate rematch was wanted by everyone, but was looking unlikely, as the Briscoes' contracts had ended, and they had signed with Impact, and FTR had to deal with The Young Bucks, who wanted a shot at the new champs. Then the Briscoes won the Impact Tag Team titles, and FTR disposed of The Young Bucks, and won the IWGP Tag Team titles at Forbidden Door (titles that the Briscoes have also held), a rematch was looking less and less likely. Until ... The Briscoes dropped the Impact Tag Team titles, and announced that they had come home, re-signing with ROH, and made it abundantly clear that they wanted their World Tag Team titles back (as they are 12 time champions). FTR are fighting champions, but they also want to prove that their win wasn't a fluke, that they can beat a Briscoe team that's fresh and hasn't already wrestled one match that day. And to make certain that this isn't just a one-and-done match, it was announced as being Two Out of Three Falls. This isn't going to be a match. This is war. For the Ring of Honor World Television Title: https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1549031988366938113?s=20&t=SVYUlycoP97KMxt5KFSDew In a feud that has spanned TNA, ROH, and AEW, Jay Lethal looks to take back the title that he truly believes belongs to him, the Ring of Honor World Television Title, from the man who he once considered a mentor, "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe. And Lethal may have a point (and not the one on the pencil behind the ear of his lackey Sonjay Dutt). As the longest reigning ROH World Television champion in ROH history (including holding it simultaneously with the ROH World title), Lethal's name is synonymous with the ROH World Television title. He may even be the greatest World Television Champion ... but that's not what this feud is really about. Because no matter the accomplishments Lethal had in ROH, to many, many fans out there, Samoa Joe IS Ring of Honor. And that eats at Jay Lethal. Jay Lethal wants to be that man. He wants to be Ring of Honor. So much so that he attacked the newly crowned ROH World Champion at the end of Supercard of Honor ... only for Samoa Joe to return and run him off. So now Lethal wants to do the same, wants to run Joe off. He and his allies, Sonjay Dutt and the seven-foot-plus Satnam Singh, put the hurt on Joe, attacking him with a lead pipe. And now they hope that by taking the World Television title off Joe, they can show the world that Jay Lethal IS Ring of Honor. But they made a mistake. They made Samoa Joe mad. And when Samoa Joe gets mad ... people get hurt. For the Ring of Honor Women's World Title: https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1550594032337821697?s=20&t=SVYUlycoP97KMxt5KFSDew It all started innocently enough. Two wrestlers, with similar mindsets, decided to team up to gain some wins, get some money, and hurt their opponents (and not necessarily in that order). It could work; it has worked, in the past. But not when those mindsets belong to the ROH Women's World Champion Mercedes Martinez and "The Professor" Serena Deeb. The matches were innocuous to start; two wrestlers, both with strong technical bases, were almost putting on clinics, tying their opponents in knots as they quickly achieved victory after victory. Some spectators even speculated that the Martinez/Deeb pairing could be serious contenders for tag team gold if AEW were inclined to introduce a women's tag team championship. They meshed well, with frequent tags and teamwork. But it didn't last long. One would get upset if the other achieved the win for the team. But it didn't bore out of something as petty as jealously. No, the seeds for the discord came from the inherent sadism that both wrestlers possessed. Deeb ends the match with a Serenity Lock submission? But Martinez still wanted to put the hurt on the opposing team. Martinez gets the tap out win with her modified Dragon Sleeper? But Deeb wasn't finished with them yet. They soon came to blows, leading to this match. A match where the title on the line seems to be second on the competitors' minds. No, what these two want is to hurt each other. And if one walks out as champion, all the better. But it won't be as good to them as making certain their opponent can't walk out. For the Ring of Honor Pure Title: https://twitter.com/AEW/status/1545038034873245696?s=20&t=04waqQv1sgyTyTdInCNofw Eighteen months ago, Daniel Garcia vs Wheeler Yuta would've been a match on AEW Dark, or a opening match on ROH TV. Two young lions, two young technicians putting a match that would warm the crowd up, get them hyped for the bigger stars coming out later. But now? Eighteen months later? These two men's lives have already changed irrevocably, with Garcia finding himself aligned with "The Living Legend" Chris Jericho (and Stab's Boys) in the Jericho Appreciation Society, while Yuta learns from Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, and William Regal as a member of The Blackpool Combat Club. And already these two have spilt so much blood together, first in the Anarchy in the Arena match, and then at Blood & Guts. But this is different. That was in AEW. This is Ring of Honor. There are rules in this match. Rules that must be abided by, adhered to, or they will lose the match. But these two hate each other. Hate each other so much. And that makes for an exciting Pure Rules Match. For the Ring of Honor World Six Man Tag Team Titles: https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1550533884416229376?s=20&t=ChuBXKLsGqHIF1v5DmbS_A When Tony Khan made his historic announcement of his purchase of Ring of Honor back in March, one thing that was conspicuous by its absent was any reference to the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Titles. Would they still be defended? Would they be vacated? Would they quietly be retired? Fans of tag team and trios action had questions. And now, we have the answer. The current and reigning World Six Man Champions, The Righteous (Vincent, Dutch, and Tyler Bateman) make their return (and debut under the Tony Khan era of ROH) defending the belts against former champions Dalton Castle and his Boys (The Tate Twins). It's been a while since The Righteous have been in a ROH ring. Will ring rust be a factor? Will Dalton and The Boys antics play thrown them off their game? Or have they been biding their time, waiting for the opportune moment to reestablish themselves, and at the expense of one of ROH's most beloved groups? https://twitter.com/JoseAssistant/status/1550684404342718464?s=20&t=ChuBXKLsGqHIF1v5DmbS_A Battle of the Brothers? WTF Jose? WHAT DID YOU DO?? Is there a pre-show, I hear you asking? No, there is not. Because this is Ring of Honor; it's not a pre-show, it's ZERO HOUR! (Yes, it's a pre-show) https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1550631779752562688?s=20&t=ChuBXKLsGqHIF1v5DmbS_A Willow Nightingale (and her awesome music!) take on former NWA World's Women's Champion/NWA Women's Tag Team Champion Allisyn Kay. A win over Kay would be a big deal for Willow, and a win over a rising AEW personality like Willow would raise Kay's stock. https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1550820775346769921?s=20&t=ChuBXKLsGqHIF1v5DmbS_A Everyone's been asking "Where's Colt? Where's he at?" Well, here you go! He's here, wrestling one half of The Workhorsemen, Anthony Henry, who's making his ROH debut. But everyone excited for Colt better be warned, because the other half of The Workhorsemen, JD Drake (also 1/4 of The Wingmen) is going to be in his partner's corner, and you know he's not going to put up with any of Colt's shenanigans. https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1550835875084369925?s=20&t=ChuBXKLsGqHIF1v5DmbS_A At Supercard of Honor, Cheeseburger and Eli Isom had an impressive outing despite losing to the debuting The Gates of Agony. Now they face another debuting tag team, Ari Daivari (who had a vignette on last night's Rampage) and Slim J. Can the Shinobi Shadow Squad pick up a win, or are we seeing the beginnings of a rather unfortunate streak? https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1550851226010533892?s=20&t=ChuBXKLsGqHIF1v5DmbS_A An intriguing match up; can the team of Zayne, Christian, and former ROH World Television Champion Deppen be able to outwrestle the frankly terrifying trio of Tully Blanchard Enterprises' Brian Cage and The Gates of Agony? They're going to have to use all their quickness and wits if they want to avoid being torn asunder by the men Tully Blanchard is looking to lead him back to the pinnacle of professional wrestling. Also: This Shirt rules: https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1549804336678682625?s=20&t=SVYUlycoP97KMxt5KFSDew (It's his name on the faction, why shouldn't he have the biggest image?) * https://i.imgur.com/3jFfb6H.mp4 Davros1 fucked around with this message at 17:57 on Jul 23, 2022 |

My assumption is the trios match tonight is to specifically move the belts over to guys Tony wants to use so he doesn’t have to use Vincent ever again.

Will be watching the pape, to not support Dalton Castle is criminal. Looking forward to seeing how the presentation of the brand is, love AEW’s blend of sports entertainment and pro wrestling but wouldn’t hate a new thing with more PW and slightly less SE.
