work has spent thousands to replace my three screens with one 49” monstrosity. current trip report is that I hate it. it is the company’s attempt to placate my apathy for working the same job for decades. I’d rather they just gave me the cash and left my four screens alone. then again, I don’t think you can write off cash? idk maybe you can. i got a garbage costco 44" 4k tv to use as a monitor for like $180 and it rules. Sure the text rendering is awful, who cares, the characters are a half inch high.

about 3 years ago, i overheard someone at work complaining about multi monitors and for some reason it stuck with me now i use a 34” ultra wide as my main bad screen. i think it’s 3440*1440. it could stand to be higher res but it’s mostly needs suiting
