Milk's on them.

My dad and I are considering doing part of the Camino de Santiago Compostela in October. Plan would be to fly in, go from Pamplona to Roncesvalles, then hike:

- Roncesvalles to Zubiri
- Zubiri to Pamplona
- Pamplona to Puente de la Reina
- Puente de la Reina to Estella

With our schedule and the amount of days we can dedicate, we might also check out the general area:

Dad suggested Bilbao, and I’d be happy with a day trip there. Any other places we should see, or things to do along the way?

I spent a few days in Bilbao a few years ago, I didn't really care for it much. It has a Guggenheim that looks cool on the outside but that has (or at least had) mediocre exhibits on the inside. Basically the Guggenheim was built to try to resurrect a dying industrial city that was probably Europe's #1 terrorist hotspot for decades, responsible for hundreds of attacks and thousands of deaths and injuries. That's all over though, the terrorist group in the area (ETA) was all arrested / killed / disbanded 10-ish years ago.

PT6A - not sure if he still posts in this forum - talked up Logroņo for ages here, although I think it might have been his first trip to Spain so I'm not sure how it holds up against other options.

E: Jesus, ETA was a lot more psychopathic than I thought. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ETA_attacks

Logroņo seems like a pretty natural ending point for the trip, actually - what's its deal? I see a lot of words about wine and tapas online, and poo poo I'm down for that at the very least.

I don't have plat but you could search the Europe thread in this forum ( https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3318901 ) for Logroņo and read about people's thoughts, and/or PM PT6A directly ( https://forums.somethingawful.com/member.php?action=getinfo&userid=90378 ) who I'm like 98% sure is the person who kept talking up Logroņo, and even went back at least once iirc.

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.
I enjoyed Bilbao, though was only there for maybe two days I think? Donostia-San Sebastian is a fantastic gastronomy destination if you’re into that, but I don’t have specific recommendations on that front. Beautiful bay though!
