This has got me thinking about this way too deeply. Firstly, you’re right: it’s pretty inconceivable that enough people would respond with basically old-timey slang like “plonker” for that to show up but not “shithead” or “oval office”, so there’s definitely some pre-generation censoring going on in addition to the hilarious post-facto censorship.

Secondly, some of the entries in there make no sense on their own (“whos”, “corbyn”, “worse”), so I assume they’ve gotten responses from a text box where some people have just written “whos he” or “worse than corbyn” and thrown everything straight into the cloud generator. And I can’t believe that many people would put “whos he” or another string containing “whos” so I’m also going to assume the overall number of responses is small enough that words of that size come from at most two people.

I’m seeing a lot of this sentiment now - that the new government will fix this problem in the short term, because they simply have to for society to survive - but… do they? Maybe I’m stuck in doom-mongering mode, but I really think they’re quite content to ride this out and see just how far they can push it without being forced to save people.
They won’t do anything until even the big names like Wetherspoons or Sainsbury are in serious trouble over energy prices (and probably lack of business). Then they’ll leap into action by announcing a subsidy scheme that allows dead or dying businesses to be bought at a great discount, and by this time next year 95% of UK businesses will be owned by about six brands, and our tax money will have helped them do it :waycool:

E: Oh yeah they obviously won’t do anything to help regular people. People will die and landlords will make bank on all the new properties on the market.

Bardell says: “Sometimes the truth hurts, but I’m happy to withdraw.”'

Get in the loving bin Lindsay and drown in the bin juice.

But conversely if I was the Tories I’d probably give up even the slightest pretence of playing along at PMQs, given how it absolutely doesn’t matter. Just answer every question with “I support British people and businesses and we’re working hard to make Britain better” word-for-word, no matter what it is

Quick question about the COVID booster thing, is there a distinction between “immuno-comprised” and “severely immuno-compromised” when I go to book it?

Basically for the vaccinations last year I was in the group that got a text message invitation to an earlier session thanks to my coeliac disease, which is an immune-related condition but I wouldn’t say is “severe” in that regard. Does getting those texts mean I’m also eligible to book a booster now or is it only for a more severely compromised group?

TACD
Oct 27, 2000

Good enough for me, I’ve booked a session and I guess I’ll see if they tell me to gently caress off 👍🏻

There’s also an immunocompromised lass at work waiting for a text to get a booster so I’ll let her know it’s basically book it yourself this time around
