A handful of screenshots of the Chopper Tag and Carrier Defense games. EdEddnEddy (sp?) was most brutally effective in hitting the chopper, while Jazzahn was slightly less effective but had a flare for the dramatic. Team Cheetos figured out that they could keep me higher off the ground by just turning themselves into proximity kill cruise missiles and hammering into stuff as I tried to dodge among factories and other ground obstacles. The GAZ PROM losing its tail after getting cocky and twirling at altitude. This was a proximity hit, where the explosion of this near-miss killed the copilot. A clean hit. In the carrier defense mission, I ran out of ammo, so had to go defend the carrier by hunting down the Mustangs before they could land, using my last round. Sadfunda's view of the above

As the other referee for circuit race of today's event, here's some screenshots and comments. Having a shorter track like today keeps the race more exciting. It was a lot of fun to referee and the track was challenging and simple in my opinion, and produced scenic moments. Next time we shall slot gridded spots on the runway for the start-up, though. For convenience. Gold stars: Jazzahn: for supremacy. Pure lines, perfect turns, and engine pushed to the limit and precisely no more. Prime/Sadfunda: for having an immense lead and both hitting the water at the same time, wasting almost a certain win and 2nd place Beexoffel: for great attitude and learning to fly Arbitrary: for managing to snag a win from first circuit race despite being dead last and at one point 1.5 miles behind Here is the warmup round for chopper tag Three racers entering the bridge gate: The demands of air racing: "Each black mark is a goon" From Chopper Tag range: Final madness approaches:

From the carrier landing event: Most people went with landings on the super carrier rather than attempting the short landings, with none on the Tarawa at all. A couple of issues with timing/communication when someone was coming in for a stunt and the guy before was doing a more traditional approach, but those were mostly resolved without incident. Definitely fun to see everyone showboating and taking their planes to the edge of control and beyond. Prime had the best landing of the day, with a clean landing and turn around to launch off the end of the boat. EdEddnEddy managed the highest points with a near perfect approach to a deliberate nose plant on the Invincible to get the multiplier People flying with controllers - I know of at least one of you, and I honestly couldn't tell you out of the rest of the crowd. The trimmed stream from my perspective https://twitch.tv/videos/1601209077 And a quick landings compilation https://twitch.tv/videos/1601280060 Thank you all for coming out, and thanks to the judges for taking the time to keep things organized and running smoothly. Air goons will put something similar to this on in the future again, join the discord at https://discord.gg/NpHC33fYUD if you'd like to hear about upcoming events, or have any suggestions!
