I agree that Starbuck should have killed ahab, but then the story wouldn’t have been interesting. But to say gently caress him? No he was a pretty good character I’d say Starbuck is fine

Chestnut praline lattes ease the pain of ubiquitous Christmas music during the holiday season, it sucks that the company is even more lovely than usual ClamdestineBoyster posted:The thing about starbucks is if you order a small coffee they will correct you and make sure you want to order a tall but it’s like, you know the English translation ya goofus, and this coffee is South American, not italian. So give me a pequeno coffee, steeped. When I worked at Starbucks, they made us do this. We had to repeat the customer's order back to them in Starbucks-ese, which meant saying stuff like "tall" when a customer said "small" but also changing the order of the words, like (and I don't remember whether or not this is even right) if a customer said they wanted an "iced venti latte, soy with mocha" we had to say "okay, iced venti mocha soy latte coming up" or whatever. It was awful.

Starbucks is not an essential service, you can get a cup of coffee anywhere. In a lot of areas now you may even have a choice of a union shop if you just have to have your SB. I just do not get the brand loyalty that SB somehow captures in its customers.

i don't shop at their stores ever. there's one on site where i work and the company banned personal coffee makers in employee offices. i still have one, of course, and it's a political statement every time i make forbidden office coffee. i do buy bags of the starbucks veranda blend preground at my local grocery store when i don't want to make a special trip to a fancier bean purveyor. i've tried pretty much all the blends there and the veranda blend is my favorite. it's not burned like all the other starbucks flavors. they call it a light roast even though it's very much in medium territory by normal standards. you may criticize me for supporting starbucks but i usually buy them during BOGO sales. so who's really winning here, them or me?

You could argue that the retail product isn't as much of an issue because the people producing it aren't working in stores but probably larger manufacturing and processing facilities that are more inclined to have workplace health and safety standards. Then again I might just be an idiot and all coffee is produced by actual slaves.

There's also this stuff which someone at my school called Crystal meth light I don't remember how much is in one packet but i used to combine 2 into a larger water bottle and chug that poo poo when i was studying for exams. Edit looks like it is only 60 mg i must not have had as much tolerance back then. Nowadays I'll drink a bang like it's nothing Dixville fucked around with this message at 14:53 on Sep 16, 2022 |

Moby dick isn't the best book ever written unless you get rid of the sailing encyclopedia jammed into it. Or you need a sailing encyclopedia in your novel But yea I think you're right, her dad calls her Starbuck as a nickname right? Still it doesn't quite work in my head of which character is most analogous, and maybe Flask would've been the one I went for. Anyway, good luck taking on Big Coffee OP
