I'm getting the sense that Ukraine might actually win this war, which is outstanding! I'm also getting the sense that thanks to Russia being revealed to be a paper tiger, we're going to see more war from other countries going "...hey. why not?" and that's concerning to me because that's a lot of senseless death and worse. Then there's the political instability potentially inside Russia and it's all... phew. We're in a chaos era.

A pretty big part of how Putin has secured himself at the top of his grift pyramid is ensuring that there is no obvious successor. Actually grooming a successor requires investing investing them with power, authority and responsibility, ideally such a successor shouldn't just be a spineless lickspittle. If you're a paranoid baby dictator, particularly in a system with no actually working legal system of succession of power, you're not going to want that because that type of person could be a threat to your own power. If Putin suddenly dies, there is no clear strong successor.
