It would be poetic imo that Ukraine finally succeeds in pushing all the Russians out of the country by the time the first new snow falls, much like how this war started on the last new snow fall earlier in the prior winter

Things will never get better for Russia; its fundamentally impossible for the RU forces to defend their ground or counter-attack elsewhere.

Even if Poot-Poot cut a blank check to China to get... something? anything?... to try and turn this around, its physically impossible* to reinforce the front line before it collapses entirely.

Honestly though I love how the narrative kept going "Russia is about to be serious, any moment now they're gonna send their best and Ukraine is TOAST!!!" Russia did send their best, and they're wiped out beyond unit regeneration now.

In the D&D thread talk of retaking Crimea is clancychat (unrealistic) but I think at this point after they get Kherson and Melitopol, Russia won't have any loving choice. Kerch bridge will be in rocket range. Putin is a loving imbecile for keeping this going and potentially losing everything they've gained. Just send the white flag and offer to go to 2014 borders.

Double lol that all of these towns that Russia spent months fighting to take using WW1 levels of saturation artillery fire are moving back into Ukrainian hands in a couple weeks after they received half a dozen precision rocket systems that the US has 500+ of laying around and a handful of mid-80s vintage anti-radiation missiles.

The D&D thread approach is to talk about current events that are actually happening, which is why they stamped out Crimea talk over the last few months. I don't think it's the same situation now that Ukraine is actively engaging in that territory, though.

Here's the question, if he was even correct in that wholescale genocide of European Jews didn't start until the US entry, why would that at all shift the blame to the US?

Because essentially what he is arguing for is the anti-semitic world conspiracy expressed in Hitlers January 1939 "prophecy" that if "Jewish financiers succeeded in plunging the world into war, the result would not be the bolshevization of the Earth, but the elimination of Jewry", being openly at war with the US (FDR was regarded as interchangeably a puppet or the "chosen one" of America's "jewish financiers") and the Soviet Union was important symbolically for the nazis. Appreciating that fact does not actually make their arguments and conspiracy theories valid.

I'll start this post with actual content directly related to the war that was kinda lost in the noise before the death of the last thread. Deutsche Welle has been making really good documentaries about how different societies have reacted to the war and how people here in Europe have been preparing for the worst, while hoping for the best.

This is a documentary on Swedish preppers, which is super fascinating when you compare to the typical "American prepper". While American preppers tend to focus on individuals and shooting everyone else, the Swedish mentality is actually about building up communities where you can trust your fellow man.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LRsZ6TUCCA

And this one is a documentary on the debate within Finland as we are about to join NATO. Some interesting interviews with both the boss of our reservist organization, as well as the leaders of a pacifist organization. It discusses reasons, hopes and expectations of the coming years. If you want a laught however, you can check out the cool airsoft-gunners giving a QCQ presentation!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVRwkJ_rGOA

Both are worth watching, and might give people not from around here an insight into the Nordic mentality.

He never served if that's what you mean, but later on he did some really in depth military books that included research with 1st person accounts about various things like Air Force and Navy stuff, and he does seem to have done a fair amount of research for technical details including interviewing experienced service members.

But the rest of it is just him wanking off over military jargon. Especially the whole "Gung Ho" poo poo he wrote. Best example of how hard he wanked: Rainbow Six's entire plot being about a Leftist Environmental group trying to commit mass murder.

I said this in another thread but genocide denialism takes forms of "It was just incompetency" or "Someone else made them do it".

I think this is actually WORSE than just outright genocide denialism. When you deny a very well documented and accepted genocide happened, you out yourself. You show that you have an education level, a political agenda, or a mental issue to the world. You don't have to understand the politics of authoritarianism or the other issues listed to pick up on it. When you say "Cmon guy, America made Hitler do it" or "The Holodomor was just simple incompetency" I feel like it's generally an attempt to muddy the waters. I'm sure some people genuinely have good reasons or try to be academic about it, but for other people like Michael Tracy the objective is the destruction of knowledge and it's not so easy to figure out the real agenda. It's easy to just chalk it up to the fash.

It's funny how these authoritarians so quickly resort to being victims though. Russia was "the second most powerful military" and now their would be victim is striking back and ITS ALL UNFAIR!! PERFIDIOUS WEST!!!! It makes me laugh. It's like white nationalists who whine about political correctness. If you're really superior, why play games?
