I just couldn't get into Ender Lilies. The cost lacked any weight and the splash sound effect when killing enemies makes it feel like I'm fighting a bunch of water balloons. Forgone was really good for a short one, although it's really linear with backtracking only for optional upgrades. Vigil: the Longest Night was a surprise favorite of mine, too.

Dark Light is fine. Not the best available, but it has an interesting world and an art style that makes everything look like practical special effects from 80s horror movies. The game play feels a little stiff and awkward, but it's not the worst in the genre. It's not really a metroidvania, though. It has set levels and, while you can go back through then, I haven't come across anything that needed tools I'd get later to access.

Last Faith really needed an early access run. It's pretty, but it's rough. I didn't even get far enough to notice the scaling issues yet. The awkward, slightly off controls did me in. It feels slightly more sluggish than the animations suggest, like the camera following the jump only near the zenith making jumps feel shorter than they really are.
