https://twitter.com/Feinsand/status/1590497339906883589 Iirc he had a $6.5m buyout on his option ($12m if picked up) so, Atlanta is paying $3.5m for Kolby Allard, do I have that right or am I misunderstanding?

In a tradition between the past and current World Series winners I hadn't heard of until now (apparently coined by the Sox in '14), Atlanta bought pizza for the Astros front office yesterday.

Liberty Media announced plans to split the Braves and the related real estate business off into its own publicly traded stock. I don't really know how stocks work (dumb, no money) so I'll just c/p from the article:quote:The first and most obvious change, one that requires no speculation, is that the Braves are currently represented by a “tracking stock,” which is an oddball financial instrument that theoretically moves up and down in value based on the financial performance of the entity it represents. But, this move will essentially see current holders of said tracking stock redeem it for a “real” stock, i.e., one that confers ownership of the Atlanta Braves and their business assets.

Popete posted:Again I'd have to dive into and play the game more myself to really figure out how the season mode works but I am envisioning a low committal thing. Maybe play 1 or 2 matches per week, could put it to poll and figure out what works best for people but I'd prefer it be something that wouldn't take more than say an hour a week to play.

The "absurdly preliminary" '23 ZiPS projections just leaving current FAs out of it entirely, have Atlanta leading MLB at 96 wins somehow?

I started playing an elimination tournament, bumping Ego up every time I won a game and settled on 40 as the point where I'm losing close games, but it's because of mistakes I know are my fault.

Yeah Atlanta ($13.5m) is going to arbitration with Max Fried ($15m) and I feel like not pissing off the NLCY-2 in his contract year is probably worth $1.5 million. Do the numbers at the conclusion of arbitration count towards the tax or is it some related formula the way I think long-term contracts use AAV rather than the actual pay for a given year?
